Christmas Cards

I know this is over 3 months past due, but I figured I'd post them anyways. Here are some cards I made this Christmas.

DIY Table Runner

I found an article showing a table runner made of toilet paper rolls and decided to take a stab at it. I didn't use quite as many as the article but I used about 5-6 white rolls (or you can paint them).
  • First, smash the toilet rolls and mark in pencil 1/4 inch apart.
  • Then, use a craft knife and cut on the lines.
  • Design the table runner you want once you have all your pieces cut.
  • Then, use a memory book glue pen (or similar) and start gluing together from the center.
  • Immediately clip paper clips (as shown in the photo) to hold the pieces together until they dry. Do sections at a time to prevent any from falling apart.

  •  Once it dries, remove the paper clips and show off your newest decor
Great conversation piece and no one will know what it's made of unless you tell them =)

    DIY Cinnamon Candles

I absolutely loved this craft (it was NOT fun because of the cinnamon sticks, but looks great!). Super easy and looks great! Just follow the steps:

    DIY Christmas Card Hanger

For Christmas last year, I wanted to be able to display all my Christmas cards on the wall without taping them. Since my mom has had a Christmas Card Hanger since I was young, I figured I'd try to make one.

This was not my favorite craft (making it was fine, but I'm not too pleased about the outcome) but because I made it, I'm posting it =)

    My Owl

I took a painting class this week and painted an owl for the first time. I loved the way it came out and I'm looking forward to painting more in different colors =)

    DIY Initials Hanger

I wanted to make an anniversary/initials frame piece for my husband and I, and came up with something I really liked.

I went to Michael's to get the letters, burlap, twine, glue gun, wooden heart and paint, and found the background wood piece for 15 cents in the clearance section of Old Time Pottery. I made the ampersand from gray cardstock on my Cricut machine.
I painted over the original design (all I wanted was the wood) in brown acrylic paint

    All the materials involved

Laid it out to see how it was going to look
Almost finished...just need to hang it. (I wrote in our anniversary on the bottom left of the heart)

    All done =)

    I'm back...slowly but surely

It's been exactly 6 months since I created my last card and posted it. After moving back to Orlando (home), it took us a little while to get settled in. But now that we are, I've set up my craft room and began.

I feel a little rusty (and haven't had the time to really do them) so I noticed my cards are lacking the detail I'm used to. Here's the latest:

This next card was for my grandparent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. I personalized it on the inside so I didn't take a picture of it.

I'll get back into the groove soon enough =)
