1920's Murder Mystery Dinner Party

It was my sister's 25th birthday and she chose to do a Roaring 20's themed Murder Mystery Dinner. I did the decorations and gladly. The challenge was trying to decorate so many rooms on a tight budget, but we did it where it all worked together nicely =). Purple is her favorite color so it was the main one used for the decor.

Photo Blocks

For my mom's 50th birthday, I wanted to make her a special unique gift that was customized and not generic. After 5 hours of creative work, my photo blocks were complete and she loved them!

Materials used:

  • Sanded down wood blocks
  • Sand paper (for the edges after applying the scrapbook paper and photos)
  • Ink pad (for distressing the edges)
  • Scissors
  • Mod Podge* (to paste the scrapbook paper and photo)
  • Gesso (to gloss the wood for better paper and photo application)
  • Scrapbook paper (variety of patterns)
  • Stickers, buttons or whatever flair you want to add
  • Finishing sealer
*Use Mod Podge to gloss over the photo and paper but be careful that it's dry so you don't make holes in the picture or stretch it.

It's not difficult to do this project and it's really fun. It can go in so many ways and end up being your child's name with images and different sayings or whatever you would like it to be. Sky's the limit!

Lucas' Surprise 30th Birthday

My husband's surprise 30th birthday consisted of a Craft Beer Theme with outdoor water games and an inflatable slip-n-slide. It's was so much fun but I wanted to document the cake table since I made the decorations. The cake was fabulous and was literally the best cake I've ever had!!!

Last card for the year.

Since I'll be moving to Orlando, I've officially packed up all my craft supplies and will be taking a hiatus from card making =( Hopefully not for too long.

This is the last card for this year and until I set up my workshop once again!

A Proud Puerto Rican on his birthday.

One of my favorite birthday cards!

This card is for my husband's abuelo (grandfather), a domino lover, from my mother-in-law. I absolutely enjoyed making this card and I loved the way it turned out.

New technique for a Happy Birthday card

After being glued to HSN for 24-hour craft event, I noticed more and more the "distressed look". I hadn't tried it until this card.

I distressed the beige sheet where the Happy Birthday is on, as well as the inside main greeting sheet with brown ink and I love the way it turned out. I also weaved ribbon for the top outline. I love trying new things so if you have any ideas, please send them my way =)

To a soda lover...

From an auntie to her niece, a lover of soda, on her birthday. Her aunt wrote the poem especially for her birthday card. And it turned out like this:
